Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem
Despair No More.
All praise and thanks are due to Allah Almighty for guiding us into Islam, and had it not been for the guidance of Allah (SWT), we would have never been guided.
Are you among those who have tuned out your radio's and television sets from all domestic and international news? Are you among those whose hearts have shed tears for what is happening to their brothers and sisters suffering greatly at the hands of the hypocrites and the disbelievers? Are you among those who have become speechless and can't respond to the mischief, corruption, and injustice that have become prevalent over the land? Or are you among those who are disheartened and are in a state of despair? Do you feel helpless and that your hands are tied and can't do anything? Is your patience wearing thin?
Don't despair and never lose patience for it is one of the criteria of salvation in the hereafter. Just remember that Allah (SWT) is watching over us, He knows all that is going on and that He has power over all things. We must rectify our shortcomings and become true humble slaves of His. Only then will we become worthy of His help. The victory from Allah will be at hand as He promised His messengers and their followers.
[ Or do you think that you shall enter the Garden (of Bliss) without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They encountered suffering and adversity, and were so shaken in spirit that even the Messenger and those of faith who were with him cried: "When (will come) the help of Allah" ah! verily, the help of Allah is (always) near! (Al-Baqarah 2: 214) ]
We must put our trust in Allah (SWT). We must maintain the strongest ties with Him and amongst ourselves.
In a way we must feel fortunate for the cries of pain and suffering the Ummah is experiencing. Had it not been for those cries, perhaps some of us would have drowned in the sea of ignorance while others find themselves attracted to the deceptive world we live in. Those cries do send a signal to the conscious mind of the believer. It suggests that there is a problem, a disease. It is the grace of Allah that such signal is received so we may pay immediate attention to it if we care to survive.
One word could be said regarding all that is happening around us, Al-Hamdililah, for,
[ No kind of calamity can occur, except by the leave of Allah: and if anyone believes in Allah, (Allah) guides his heart (aright): for Allah knows all things. (At-Taghabun 64:11) ]
As for those who are responsible for the injustice that is taking place today, I can't help but turn to the Quran for guidance, and what I found soothed my heart and restored the hope that I had lost.
[ We send down (stage by stage) in the Qur-an that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe: to the unjust it causes nothing but loss after loss. (Al-Isra' 17:82) ]
[ Think not that Allah does not heed the deeds of those who are unjust. He but gives them respite against a day when the eyes will fixedly stare in horror.
They are running forward with necks outstretched, their heads uplifted, their gaze returning not towards them, and their hearts a (gaping) void!
So warn mankind of the Day when the Wrath will reach them: then will the wrong-doers say: "Our Lord! Respite us (if only) for a short Term: we will answer Thy Call, and follow the Messengers!" "What! Did you not swear before that there would be no end for you?"
"And you dwelt in the dwellings of those who wronged themselves; you were clearly shown how We dealt with them; and made examples for you!"
Mighty indeed were the plots, which they made, but their plots were (well) within the sight of Allah, even though their plots were such as to shake the hills!
Never think that Allah would fail His Messengers in His promise: for Allah is Exalted in Power, the Lord of Retribution.
On the day when the earth shall be changed into a different earth, and the heavens (as well), and (men) will appear before Allah, the One, the Irresistible;
And you will see the criminals on that day linked together in chains.
Their garments of liquid pitch, and their faces covered with Fire;
That Allah may requite each soul what it had earned; and verily Allah is Swift in calling to account.
Here is a Message for mankind: let them take warning therefrom, and let them know that He is (no other than) One God: let men of understanding take heed. (Ibrahim 14:42-52) ]
May Allah (SWT) help us become better Muslims and alleviate our pain and sufferings.
